Indeed . All those who have passed ACE are eligible to sit for the next batch of DIploma. Whether be it that you were referred or you didnt enroll for any reason whatsoever. Just send your application to the ministry
Forms have already been sent in schools. If you didnt get same then just write a letter to the ministry of education. M I T D house PHoenix. They will take you on board
Diploma and ACE is due to start in JULY. Visit our live forum GTU Mauritius Educators Forum on facebook
Music day will be as usual. The negotiation we had with the ministry reaped its fruit. The Minister himself talked to Seegum to tell him that anew circular will be issued on monday for Music day.
Furthermore transfer forms will be available in schools as from next week

hi
2d pupils have to stay up to 17:10 at school for ep classes.they have only ten minutes break then they will work in three subjects.i think that is is very very hard for them.where is their childhood going.this is full of paradox.the govt wants curtail the problem of tuition and stress of pupils…Even cpe classes’s tuition do not end at 17:10!
for the gp teachers thy already have their load of work now for ep all the responsibily lies on their shoulder.their collegues al can go after the class that is 16:10.the gp17;10.what r u doing for us.we have trust u and now you are adding very big burden on us?what about the wage.increase of working hours and responsibilty definitely increase of wage.We r people not robot.even robot need servicing.
what i propose is to find to make a time table so that the pupils o on subject and an activity per day.
hope that you wiil act on the benefit of the teachers and pupils.
thanks
can’t see my name in gtu ace list of passes, does that mean i have not succeeded again or should i verify with mie?
Ep is ending at 17 10 on Wednesdays. This is causing much difficulties for pupils who get home late as they face transport problems, it gets dark earlier these days and it might cause security problems for pupils going home alone. Now vans will collect pupils much later than before and i’m afraid they might forget to collect pupils some of these days. Hm and dhm have to stay much later now. Even std 5,6 are leaving school at 17 00. Just think about those std 3 pupils. As a concerned teacher i think it would be reasonable to end at 16 45 for std3 and 17 00 for std4.
EP bizin aboli… pe donne pli ampleur EP ki normal work dan classe. tou fardeau lor GP . AL pe alle 16 10. nou rester veille ki pa fer Al.. Ki justice pu GP. L union bizin fer so travay protez l’interet Gp avan Al. panne trouver aukene place ki zenfant bizin reste ziska 17 10 zist dan EP ki ene li…. esperer ki next year pu enleve sa fleau EP…..
hi. any news when diploma course is starting?
Ace already started but no news about diploma. Does GTU have any info? pls negotiate to start it soon we are all waiting for it. thx
hi kyo,
good that u also have raise ur voice but still the GTU are silent.Gp teachers always pay a very high price.Instead of diminishing our load of work it is being increase.Bizin aboli EP.ene zenfan pa capave gagne break seulement pu 10 min apres ene journee travail dan class.perna bon la cantine cot zenfan acheter manger pu assizer bien manger.perna infrastructure necessaire cuma dans ban lecole Europeen…
Gp teachers bizin faire tu.probleme lor coter materiel dan lecole.parfois et tant bien que mal nu faire nu zeffort pu faire nu travail.Ep c ene projact flop.
Mo espere lezot pu leve zot la voi et pu ena amelioration l’an prochain.
Got news that diploma is starting next year. can Dwarka who is in the academic board confirm? it was supposed to start in july, wat is gtu doing?
Hu,
MR SALEEM CHOOLUN.
Could please inform us when transfer letters will be sent to teachers?
Thanks very much and keep it up
when will diploma start? we’ve been waiting for some months now………………
HAPPY TEACHER’S DAY TO ALL. A VERY WELL DESERVED DAY DEDICATED TO TEACHERS> OUR ROLE AS TEACHERS HAS CHANGED AND WE NEED TO BE READY TO FACE THE CHALLENGES AWAITING US……..GOOD REST TO ALL AND BE FRESH FOR 2MORO..
Good work GTU. Nice Teachers day. The songs were superb.
I would like to convey my sincere appreciation to Mr Seegum for having been such a competent representative of teachers on RadioPlus on 2 occasions.
He has shown to the the Minister and the population at large, that we are not mere puppets in the hands of the Government, and that we too have our say in the Education sector.
We should continue to fight for our rights in this way especially the fact that the normal working hours might become 9 to 5 p.m shortly. If we just sit and watch, then this is what is going to happen.
Unfortunately, it is teachers themselves who are responsible for that situation as many of them should not have accepted Enhancement Programme in the first place.
Now, we should all bear the consequences of the wrong decision taken by such teachers. If we had stood together hand in hand, EP would not have existed.
Therefore, now we should live with the threat that in a few years, school will dismiss at 5 or 5.15 p.m everyday! Shame on these teachers who accepted to do EP and did not have the courage to refuse…
Anyway, long live Seegum and the GTU.
A very difficult 2012 is awaiting us, teachers…
Good stand of GTU against the Education A. bill and resolutions voted at mass meeting on the 29th October at Teacher’s centre, Q.B. For me the EP is just a means for the Ministry to extend working hours in primary schools to 5pm. Just wait for the next PRB, our new salary will be annexed to extension in the working time..Just watch out! Then, of course we will all sign the option forms because of the money and schools will end up at 5 pm..Don’t forget what the last PRB did with 30 min. integration in our work for Numeracy n Literacy..What a blunder! This is done in the advantage of parents and schools will be used as ‘garderie’ as rightly stated out by the GTU president, Mr Seegum. Where is the rationality in such a decision?..it is supposed to offer pupils the chance to indulge in other activities that can develop his potentialities other than academic stuff. But is the EP going in this direction..to my opinion NO! Just take the case of resource people who are supposed to teach arts like music, plays, drawing etc…it is just catastrophic..let’s take music for instance..it’s just alarming..there are a number of those so called ‘music teachers’ who do not even know Sa Re Ga Ma, the a,b,c of music..those ‘teachers’ are teaching music..what a shame! Its so easy to verify what I’m saying..just enquire how many of them have a diploma or even a certificate from a recognised institution..the findings will just be stunning! I know what I’m saying.
For me, the GTU must undertake a vigorous campaign against the EP, teachers must be made aware of the danger awaiting them infront..we should not give in for peanuts..we have a dignity..the ministry cannot take us for a ride..Those teachers doing EP should be put to task and they’ll have to answer for posterity..
For me, the ideal solution is the formation of resourceful persons to carry out such activities to build up the character of the child but again this should be done within school hours with a fair balance between academic stuff and extracurricular activities with less pressure on the CPE exams..of course this will take time and we can’t do otherwise unfortunately.
If there is goodwill from the Ministry and all the stakeholders concerned, schools can be a better place for the dissemination of education..but the solution is certainly not the extension of school hours to 5pm which is those concerned apparently..
We really appreciate the determination and vigour of Mr Seegum defending this issue saturday last on radio.Any decision should only be taken in consultation in order not to repeat the mistakes of EP.With this mindset,we have some reasons to be optimistic in view of the next PRB report
diploma starting in February 2012.We have posted the dates on GTU Mauritius Educators Forum. Please visit the forum to take cognizance.Thanks.
