Congrats to all. GTU had to struggle hard to have the results published.Note that the results are provisional. IGNOU has yet to give its approval. But no panic. The results will take effect on 7 May 2010. Just a formality from IGNOU. Now just prepare for graduation which will take place in Dec 2010.

  7. vinod seegum says:

  8. vinod seegum says:

Are you agreeable for a graduation ceremony for MIE IGNOU DILOMA HOLDERS? GTU is for. Students will have to pay 1000 rupees for the Gown & refreshments. Please send your comments.

  9. EX MIE IGNOU STUDENT says:

I think all of us would love to have the honour of being graduated since we worked hard to get that diploma and it will be memorable for all of us. Rs 1000 is not a huge sum of money and I’m sure all of us can afford to pay. Besides we will get 1 or 2 increments. Thank u Mr Seegum for the document on conditions of service. We badly need it !

  10. begum says:

  14. Ally says:

    Hello Mr Seegum
I’v read in today’s paper Le Defi Plus that the Minister said that “Ces leçons sont interdites en STD IV”

    is this true?

  15. Ally says:

    Hi Begum
If u didnt see ur name on the list here its maybe because u r not a GTU member… If u r 1 then there must be some other reason. Perhaps Mr Seegum will help u to find out

  16. begum says:

Hello Mr Seegum, its ok.i am nt offended althiugh it gave me a v big headache..my full name is B.Begum Feriaze Sokeechand n am in the last group.cud u please counterchek wth mie b4 adding my name on the list please?thks a lot.

Are u a member of GTU? If u are not.then u can’t expect GTU to serve u so much.If u are.then its our fault. Please check.

  19. vinod seegum says:

ACE results of First Semester will be published on this website on 27 May2010.Only GTU members will find their names.Join GTU to benefit numerous services.

  20. vinod seegum says:

Yes Ally tuition in std4 is now prohibited in schools. However one can still give tuition outside school premises.Note that the minister intends to amend section 37A of Education Act soon to ban it completely.Only GTU is fighting tooth n nail to resist the minister’s moves.Do not be like the leaders of one fake union who r claiming abolition of tuition but r in fact great tuition givers.Help us to denounce such hypocrites.

  21. vinod seegum says:

Iam happy to note that most students are agreeable with the graduation ceremony.I will personally see to it.

  22. Ally says:

    Hi Begum,
    I’m from batch 1995-1996. N u?

  23. Ally says:

    Hello Mr Seegum
I’m a GTU delegate. So i’m not supposed to side with those people. But in fact personally dont like that fake trade unionist who was the Technical Advisor but now claims to be the President of that union. BTW i cant understand y the minister always call upon him to discuss industrial matters. unless its bcoz he just agrees to what the minister says…

  24. Ally says:

I also wanted to know how many increments we’ll be getting n when we’ll b getting that
    Thanks
    Keep it up

  36. EX MIE IGNOU STUDENT says:

I wud like to know when we r going to get detailed results for sem2 n sem3 diploma. It’s been such a long time!Let me tell Ex-ACE students that I recently got my ACE certificate, 3 yrs after!what r they doing at the MIE?

  37. Ally says:

Mr Seegum, I’v read in ur last circular letter that the ministry is soon coming up with a new scheme of service for the H&PE instructors. This is indeed very good. But i do hope that they will recrute more of these officers as the few that we have in service will surely not be able to cater for all our schools. N lets hope that they will once again take charge of the H&PE classes as it was in the past.
Also i read that the ministry in now going to redefine the work of the ICT support officers. I have always been against the fact that these people will no longer be teaching ICT in Primary schools but will rather be called upon to help n guide GP teachers when they will be conducting their maths or english lesson using ICT tools. I dont understand how we GP teachers will proceed in the event that the child is not conversent with the use of basic ICT tools n programs. Will he focus on his maths lesson or will he need to teach the child the basics of computers first. I think it is better to have the ICT teachers doing the ICT class as they have been doing it so far because according to the pupils must have a basic knowledge on computers n their use when they r leaving the primary school. Government is showing much concern to have a computer literate nation on one hand, and on the other hand, it is depriving the kids from computer classes in the primary. Most of the kids in our schools r very fond of these classes. Moreover, in some regions like the school where i work, the 3 periods for ICT r the only free periods per week that we GP teachers get. During the AL classes more than half of the class stays back with us as they do not do any of the AL. (BTW i work at Pointe aux PIments GS). N i know that this is the case for many teachers working in schools where Roman Catholics r high in number.
I hope u understand my point.
    Thanks

  38. Clency Kelly says:

I did promise not to write any more on this website as I am not a member of the GTU. But Mr Ally fine cause tellement bon kitsoze ki mone envie félicite li.

I don’t know your age,I’m 56 and let me tell you that mo rappelle ki 46 ans de celà ti éna haut parleurs dans classe pou léçons éducatives.Mo ti pensé ki 46 ans après ti bizin éna audio-visual materials dans chaque classe.
Mëme ICT classroom nou pas gagne accés pou faire banne dévoirs ki éna dans livre.Aberrant

  39. Ally says:

    Hello Mr Clency Kelly
u r 100 % right. I was still at primary at that time. N I remember about those radio braodcast lessons. But as it has always been the case in our education system, tou seki bon zot tiré et apré vine demane nou fer mirac ar zenfan.
i would like to remind everybody here that some, n i stress SOME, ICT believe that the ICT labs r their private property. Also, they find it very difficult n down grading when they r asked to leave the airconditionned ICT lab with white board n cushion chairs go n work or replace in normal classrooms where we teachers spend the whole day. I believe that it is not always that ICT classes r practical. I say it again. mo pa p dire ki TOU ICT teachers kumsa.

  40. prit says:

congrats to all zoz who hv passed zer ACE.
To add to wat some of my friends hv said i totaly agree wiz zm on z issue of ict teachers phasing out of classrooms. already we are overloaded wz a curriculum wer obsolete topics from secondary r being dumped on us n we r expcted 2 make pupils assimilate zat. n if it so hapens hapens zt z kids hv nt mastered zoz concpts we r tagged as incapable teachers wich entr guilmets i’v got 2 hear abt myslf gvn zt i wrk in a zep schul n kids r nt overtly brilliant. nw we wil hv z burden of incorporating ict in our workng time n soi disant usng it as tool we wil be indirctly called to teach z subjct. n to top it all nowadays it has kind of beome a habit 4 IT teachers 2 absent zmselves 2 absent zmslves frm schul wn ze hv 2 handle kids of repeaters cz ze face lots of difficulties wz zz kids. as if we clasteachers we hv a baton magic in our hand n we cn manage 2 handle zm 4 1 whole week bt ze cn’t do so 4 3 periods. tout pretx bon pou banla kapav evite sa clas la. bt i’l add 2 wat ally said nt al of zm r like zt bt zt stil r only a few. z way thngs r going it wn’t be far wn we wl be called jack of all trades but master of none.

  41. Ally says:

    Hello Mr Seegum
I’d like to hear your reflections after reading what i’v written concerning ICT classes in primary schools. N what is in reserve for us GP teachers concerning the teaching of ICT as a subject and concerning the use of ICT as a medium of teaching
    Thank you

  42. Farah says:

I am an ICT teacher and I am very against the fact that we are being redfined as ICT Suport Officers. Personally I think it’s better to remain ICT teachers because as others have pointed out, pupils need to have basic knowledge of computers before carrying out the integration work. Also I would like to point a fact that other teachers do not understand. ICT teachers are not supposed to do replacement of GP teachers. It’s the duty of DHTs and AL educators. We are supposed to be responsible of the lab and to keep proper maintenance of the computer equipment. Also what time will we get to do classes and monitor the equipmen if we are supposed to do replacement. Do not forget the load of administrative work that we help to carry out because although most schools have school clerks, the latters continue to point out that they are not computer literate. And also most ICT teachers are part time teachers in schools (2-3 schools weekly- correction of pupils’ work, practical sessions and so on, an average of 500 pupils weekly). The reason why so many ICT teachers absent themselves is that according to their contract they are entitled to a numerous amount of leaves. If not taken, the leaves won’t go to any bank as applicable for you all. So most of them prefer to take their leaves as they won’t get any refund after.

  43. begum says:

I also agree wth wat my colleagues say abt increase in z workload of gp teacher.all say that we have upgraded frm teacher to EDUCATORS.wat a great word! look at z conditions we work in!avec tou sa lapoussiere la nu p malad.dan tou lekol ti bisin ena whiteboard et marker.minister ti bisin travay lor la et mo kwar la gtu bisin fer minis trouve c ki nu bisin.ameliore nu condition travay.
n vrai deloading pu ki continie ena ict teachers et dan chak lekol pe instructor.e mo pa dir ki zot bisin done nu directif kuman pu f class pe!!!kumandir p paye zot pu done nu directives.nu ac sous pression,in arive ler pu allege nu Mr Seegum.merci
b aster nu pu travay sous lordre ict teachers et pe teachers et inspecteurs et ki enkor??????

  44. vinod seegum says:

Ict teachers r employed on contract since 8 years. It is the GTU who has struggled to find a breakthrough 4 them. By getting PRB 2 create the post of ICT SUPPORT OFFICER for them. The scheme of service is almost ready n recruitment will start soon. We have 2b human. We cant 4 selfish reasons keep zem in a ghetto. They will soon become PUBLIC OFFICERS as we are. Thanks 2 the GTU. They will henceforth b able to contract loans from banks, mut aid etc. WILL THEY B GRATEFUL?

  45. Naz says:

I’m not against the recruitment of ICT teachers as support officers but I sincerely hope they will be responsible and work bcoz in the 2 schools where I’ve worked the ICT teachers were so slack! not to say lazy!I’ve got feedback from friends that this is also the case in other schools. In the school where I am presently working it’s nearly a miracle if she is present the whole week! The pupils(std 2) have no ICT exercise books since they only fill their slates with the words:mouse, keyboard, monitor etc. and even this is not corrected bcoz very often I notice words wrongly written.I wonder whether they don’t have any syllabus, any supervisor, any lesson notes to prepare! Does this mean the ministry is paying them just to kill time in schools? What about the pupils?Does anyone care?

  46. Zay says:

    HI,
Im an ICT teacher and I would like to reply to Naz… I think you should verify your source of information first and publish it especially when you are generalising the case…….Who said that all ICt teachers are slack and dont do their work properly….
Im doing my work very well and all my pupils enjoy doing ICT…
I have witnessed GP teachers sleeping in class, and those who just don’t work coment nu dire touye le temps…does thid mean that all Gp teacjrs are the same!
Definetely not…. so I dont think its fair to say such things concerning ICT teachers.

  47. vinod seegum says:

Zay is right. We can’t always generalise.

  48. Ally says:

    Mr Seegum
I’v read somewhere that when the present ICT teachers will be re-styled ICT support officers the three periods where the pupils were doing their ICT classes will not be dumped onto GP teachers… What r the pupils going to do during these 3 periods finally?

BTW I giess it would hav been a better option to ask PRB to recruit them as ITC teachers on permanent establishment. Y N what is the need to hav them as ICT support officers? N, as I hav asked it before n i’v not yet got any reply, WHO WILL TEACH THE KIDS THE BASICS OF ICT? WE????!!!!!!!

In answer to Zay comment, I accept that we cannot just generalise like that. But it is as well true that some ICT teachers r very zealous n if we look at the statistics, they often absent themselves of some particular days of the week.

  49. Ally says:

I’d want to thank Farah for supporting my point of view. In fact, if a survey is carried out, I’m sure we’ll see that most of the GP teachers as well as many of the actual ICT teachers r in favour of the latters continuing as ICT teachers. They only need to hav their scheme of work properly defined with a proper syllabus and textbooks for each class.
Lets all just give this a serious thought please.
    Thanks

    HI,
I agree with you Ally that it may be true that there are some teachers generally who dont take their work seriously…ICT , GP and AL teachers…You cant just point out about the statiststics of ICT teachers…….
I think everyone should take his responsability, we are all teachers, and we are here to make futures of these kids..
In answer to the issue that you have only 3 periods of ICT as free period, I dont think its fair saying this…..You have this, your friend has only one free period per week!
    I start working from 0850 till 3.05 without a free period….just my b reak and lunch time….

So I think you should console yourself, you have free periods everyday with the AL…….
I dont’ complain because I like my work and I’m satisfied when I see my students using computers very well…

Today Im telling you this just to make you know that your condition of work is much better than me, then why complaining for just 3 periods of ICT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
