SEMINAR ON HIV/AIDS 28-29 May 10

HIV/AIDS is by far worst pandemic affecting millions of persons worldwide. Mauritius despite being so tiny on the world map has not been spared by its tentacles. We are all concerned in anyway whatsoever to put a halt to its spread. As teachers, we have the huge responsibility to sensibilize our school children and the population in general about this calamity.

In line with providing teachers with a sound knowledge of the disease, the GTU in collaboration with the Mauritius Family Planning & Welfare Association (MFPWA) is holding a 5 day seminar on HIV/AIDS. In the first instance 80 teachers will have the opportunity to follow same. We are therefore inviting teachers to submit their names if they are willing to participate on a first come first served basis.

A first 2 days workshop is scheduled on Date:

(i) Friday 28th May 2010

(ii) Saturday 29th May 2010

Venue: Gold Crest Hotel (Tentative)

Please note that lunch refreshments and stationary will be provided and as it is an issue to the concern of all. Official release on Friday 28th May 2010 will be sought from the Ministry in the hope that they will agree for same.
