ACE EXAMS
MIE failed to notify all students in time. However exams are maintained for Saturday 24 April 2010. Many teachers want to end the course at the earliest for the following reasons:
- To earn the additional two increments.
- Postponing the exams would have these exams around November that is they will carry on with the ’stress’ until that time.
- Shortly after completion of the ACE Course teachers will be enrolled for Diploma Course and any delay might prevent them from doing so.

The MIE should have used its website:
To inform the students well in advance (at least 1 month) that the exams have been fixed on the prescribed date and the modules that they will have and at what time.
Secondly the MIE should have posted on its website a list of students who will take part in the examinations in which examination Centre they will be and in which examination Room. In the mean time their individual time table together with their index Number can be sent to them. Those who have not received thier time table can still consult the web-Site of the MIE to know the date and their examinations Centre and Room Number.
MIE should start to innovate.
Teachers hopelessly are not valued for their contribution in the education of the society?!!! neither by parents, by pupils, by the ministry and now nor by the institution responsible for their education.
Firstly, MIE could not organize a proper place for the face to face session of teachers. Teachers had their lecture at the Teachers’ Centre in Quatre Bornes from 9.00 to 3.00 with their copybooks in their hands…only those who have experienced it can say how uncomfortable we felt. but here also we said “pa fer rien we can cope.”
Secondly, now for the ACE exams I got news from the GTU and friends at the end of the 1st term but what about MIE, they took so much time!!! to send official time tables and when you call them they tell you the tentative date is 24th April and in time you don’t get any notice and just 4 days before the exams I receive my timetable. i think MIE has to review his system of work.
Thirdly, the Health paper was OK however one has to know everything in the CD for answering such questions because every part of it was touched. For Literacy it was a real “massacre”. So many questions just made me confused!! don’t know for others but it was rather difficult but i tried my best…we’ll wait for the results to see. You imagine remembering so many details in such a short notice.
Lastly, something that really annoyed me was the way the invigilator behaved with us…if someone is caught cheating the MIE can take disciplinary actions but beforehand don’t treat us as cheaters. i don’t know why people tend to generalise everything….we always have to hear or pay for others’ mistakes.
Quelle humiliation!!!
i would like to tell Vinesh that i went on the M.I.E. web site before the exams and to my utmost surprise i couldnt see any article in regards to ACE2009-2010. i was looking for models of past exams papers in ACE. even on the web site, primary school teachers are left behind…because i saw plenty of info for diploma secondary…pgce…sample questions…and for primary school teachers??? During the face-to-face sessions, lecturers gave their email add to us. i sent emails to health & english lecturers for model of ACE papers…n till now no reply…
anyone knows when the results will be released?
I have heard that it will be for next year.
Anyone has any idea?
I want to know when we are starting our diploma course. will it be this year? I would also like to know if I have passed the ACE exams.
GTU has come up with a document on conditions of service and other related issues, destined for its MEMBERS ONLY. Ask for your copy. Same will be distributed in all schools soon. Do not lend to non-members, even if he/she is your HT or Inspector.
It seems that teachers bashing has started anew in the press given a start by J D navacelle in Lexpress. Very good Mr Seegum your prompt reaction not only reassures us but also helps to maintain our image in the society.Keep it up. Thanks.
