Teachers News Aug 2009 : Private tuitions
NATIONAL FORUM ON PRIVATE TUITION
GTU president intervened on private radios decrying the fact the National Forum as promised by Minister Bunwaree during the winter holidays was not held. GTU wrote to the Ministry in same connection. It is under GTU’s pressure that unions have this day been called upon to attend the long awaited forum on Tuesday 18 August 2009 at 13.30hrs at IVTB house phoenix. GTU’s position on abolition of tuition is clear-cut. It is expected that minister Bunwaree, the GPTU and other unions will all endeavour as a big front to counter GTU. Note that GTU is not impregnated with the culture of surrendering or giving in. GTU will fight tooth and nail the ministry and its ostentatious chamchas
TUITION
GTU is the only major stakeholder of the Primary Education sector to claim the maintain of private tuition in Stad IV. It should be noted that one Mr A. J. pseudo trade-unionist who supposedly represenst G. P Teachers claimed that Std I teachers give tuition. And to rub salt in the wounds, he further stated in a daily that pre-primary kids were taking tuition as well! This was a deliberate move by bootlickers of the Honourable Minister bent to implement his famous plan of ending private tuition in primary schools. Its so hard to understand how such a zany can represent the interest of General Purpose Teachers. And he recently bade farewell to all with his fake “Pens Down”. His n’th lie.
Peak Time Magazine on Saturday 25 July 2009
Mr Ponnapa Naiken of the MBC invited Vinod Seegum on the plateau of Peak Time Magazine in the presence of Vina Balgobin, Mr Foondun and the psychopath. GTU explained thoroughly that Jangli represents a non-recognized union and it is unfair and illegal to invite him on the plateau and that GTU would not be present if the psychopath was there. MBC congratulated GTU for enlightening them but sill went for the psychopath as he was acting as whistleblower of Bunwaree. GTU squarely refused to share the plateau where Jangli declared that private tuition is a “crime contre l’enfance”. You think it’s false? Ask for the recording from MBC. And what a programme! Where all 3 participants spoke in same line, i.e. criminalizing private tuition.
Mr Foondun, a great tuition giver
The ministry sent Mr Foondun as its representative on the plateau. The latter declared that tuition causes stress etc. .. And recommended its abolition and in place proposed music, theatre, sports… Do you know that Mr Foondun had left behind all his pupils to be present at the MBC and was rushing with the programme so as to be on time to start tuition at his place at Bonne Terre, Vacoas? Can people and above all policy makers be so hypocrite?
